MADISON, Wis.—The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is offering free sports physicals to student-athletes at its four comprehensive high schools this August, helping ensure students are ready to participate in fall athletics while removing barriers for families.

The clinics are open to MMSD students participating in school-sponsored athletics and are intended to help students meet the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association's (WIAA) physical examination requirements before the start of the fall sports season.

"MMSD is committed to making athletics accessible to every student who wants to participate," said Jeremy Schlitz, MMSD's director of athletics. "By offering free physicals at our high schools, we're making it easier for students to focus on being part of a team, developing new skills and enjoying the many benefits that come with participating in school athletics."

Physicals will be offered between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Monday, Aug. 3: Vel Phillips Memorial High School and Robert M. La Follette High School
